Ringing in the New Year on a High Note + What’s in Store for the Cannabis Industry in 2013

The medical marijuana industry has many reasons to celebrate this holiday season. Dispensaries have opened in Arizona and New Jersey. Colorado and Washington legalized marijuana. The industry won several key court battles over the past month. The government’s crackdown has subsided in some areas of the country. And two new states – Connecticut and Massachusetts – joined the MMJ club.

Despite plenty of challenges, 2012 will go down as a historic period for the marijuana industry.

It’s been a great year for Medical Marijuana Business Daily as well. While there’s been some turmoil in the media side of the MMJ industry – with several publications folding, including Kush Magazine – we’ve managed to thrive. We’d like to thank everyone who has helped us grow into the premier source of industry news and analysis, including our guest columnists, sources, tipsters, speakers, survey respondents and sponsors who make our free news service possible.

So if you notice a lack of updates this week, don’t fear: We are taking a much-needed break for the holidays and will resume our daily posts and newsletter on Jan. 2.

Keep an eye out for some changes/new services in the coming months, including a redesigned newsletter and an industry factbook packed with valuable market information. And start making plans for November, when we’ll hold our second annual National Marijuana Business Conference – this time in Seattle.
