New Speaker for National Marijuana Business Conference: Cannabis Industry Tax Expert Henry G. Wykowski

Henry Wykowski, a San Francisco-based attorney regarded as a leading authority on tax issues in the medical cannabis industry, has agreed to speak at the National Marijuana Business Conference.

In practice for more than three decades, he has represented numerous dispensaries on tax and litigation matters and was involved in the landmark case of Californians Helping To Alleviate Medical Problems v. Commissioner. The case represented a significant victory for dispensaries against the IRS and prevented the government from essentially taxing MMJ centers out of business.

Wykowski also has represented dispensaries such as Oakland-based Harborside Health Center, which is one of the largest cannabis centers in the nation. He is currently involved in several dozen tax audits of dispensaries and speaks frequently about issues involving the taxation of medical marijuana centers.

In addition to his work with dispensaries, Wykowski currently serves on the board of directors of the National Cannabis Industry Association and is a founding member of both the NCIA Accounting and Tax Issues Committee and the 280E Reform Committee.
