Long Beach CA Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Fight for Closure Reprieve

Since February, the 18 remaining Long Beach cannabis collectives have known they will be required to close their doors for good on August 12th. Now, three City Council members, led by soon-to-retire Councilwoman Rae Gabelich are sponsoring a last ditch effort to keep dispensaries open.
Their proposal: instead of forcing dispensaries to shut down on an arbitrary date, why not wait until the California Supreme Court issues a ruling on the Pack vs Long Beach case that the city’s licensing process forced collectives to violate federal laws?
This will be Gabelich’s last chance to try to help medical marijuana patients on the City Council, as she must leave the Council July 10th due to term limits.
The public can attend the meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at City Hall at 333 West Ocean Boulevard. The meeting will also be broadcast live online at www.longbeach.gov

I am horribly upset at this decision, because of politics we are forcing good tax paying citizens to again break the law, by locating their marijuana through a “dealer”.
Let’s get real they will not stop buying it.
I do believe in regulations from the city. Limit the number and locations of dispensaries. Remove the “getto ones”, remove the profit, provide jobs and revenue for the city through taxes.
